nquity House is home to 139 senior individuals and couples who appreciate living in a park-like setting in the midst of a convenient neighborhood. Situated on the Neponset River, residents can commune with nature from their balconies or enjoy a short walk to the MBTA trolley stop, churches and shopping.
The heart of Unquity House is the common area on the first floor, designed for spontaneous socialization. There is usually a "buzz" of activities and conversations, either in the living room, the library, or the cafe/convenience store. The first floor also includes a cheery laundry room, large dining hall used for monthly dinners, lunches and social events, and a beauty parlor. Visitors are greeted by a friendly face at the security desk by the front door.
Outdoors there are several seating areas taking advantage of the shade trees and views of the river. In bad weather, there is no reason to go out. Each floor is designed with its own comfortable sitting area and residents can pick up essentials at the resident-run convenience store or feel free to join neighbors for coffee in the cafe any time of day.
Unquity House offers many opportunities for intellectual, spiritual and cultural enrichment, exercise and social interaction. The Activities Coordinator plans a wide variety of events including weekly van trips.
For residents needing assistance, there is an array of personal care services and other support services such as apartment cleaning and laundry. These services will be provided by Bayada Nurses of Quincy, which has a preferred provider agreement with Unquity House. All personal care and support services are offered on an a la carte basis residents who use the services choose and pay for only what they need.
